JavaHelp cannot play movies, such as avi and mov files directly. However there are hooks available which can be used to call your own Java classes. HM2JHelp is provided with some support for the Java Media Framework API(JMF). Note that the implementation of the JMF with HM2JHelp is experimental. However, it does show the basic principles involved when creating your own viewers. To see how the JMF can be used see Using the JMF.
Note: When you compile your HTML Help, using Help and Manual, you may receive a message stating that "Movie file xxxx.avi must be distributed along with the HTML Help or HTML file". If you receive this message, the file will also need to be manually copied to the Java Helpset created by HM2JHelp as the program will not be able to find it.
